Sydney Thomasis giving an update on her relationship status after going viral as the “ring girl” at theMike TysonandJake Paulfight.
In an interview with YouTube creatorNick Nayersina on Dec. 2, the 21-year-old University of Alabama student shared that she broke up with her boyfriend over the summer before achieving her newfound fame online.
“[I] had no problems with him at all. He was great,” Thomas explained. “I just broke up with him because I was like ‘I just need and want more time with myself.'” Thomas added that she wanted to take the time to “discover who I am” and “be alone.”
“As hard as it was to lose him and lose each other I feel like it’s all God’s plan,” she continued. “It works out in the end.”
When asked about her current relationship status, Thomas confirmed she’s single and taking a break from dating, noting that “any man is a distraction to me.”
Even though she doesn’t have any current plans for a new relationship, Thomas shared that she “has a list” of qualities she would want in a potential partner.
“I need a man that’s taller than six foot. I’d like a tall man in my life [since] I’m a tall girl,” she said. “I need someone who is respectful and I think that’s honestly one of the biggest turnoffs for me; when a man isn’t respectful.”

After her viral appearance at the Mike Tyson-Jake Paul fight on Nov. 15, Thomas experienced"overwhelming” support onlineand quickly surpassed one million followers on TikTok.
She later opened up about becoming “the best version of myself” in her “get to know me"TikTokposted on Nov. 25, saying she was “very driven with self-improvement.”

“I don’t stress too much about the future,” she continued. “I know the path that I’m on is the right one and I’ll end up where I need to be and it will all work out in the end.”
