Busy Philippsjust gave Jenna Fischer the ultimate birthday surprise.

During an appearance Tuesday onBusy Tonight, Fischer opened presents from her formerThe Officecostars as an early birthday surprise.

And whileEllie Kemper, Angela Kinsey, and Ed Helms all sent thoughtful gifts (including a banjo and a shirt with a loaf of bread on it) to Fischer,Steve Carell‘s surprise took the cake.

“This is your final one, and it’s really big,” Philipps, 39, said as she directed Fischer, 44, to a giant box.

The women counted to three and Fischer ripped the lid off the box to uncover Carell, 56, hiding inside.

“Oh my god!” yelled Fischer as her shrieks of fright quickly turned into excitement. “I wasn’t expecting a human being to be in the box, and on top of that I wasn’t expecting that human being to be Steve.”

“I’m really sorry,” Carell said with a laugh as Fischer began tearing up from all the shock.

The Officeran for nine seasons from 2005 to 2013 and the cast has remained close in the years since the show ended.

In November, some of the castcrashed the set ofSaturday Night Live, which Carell hosted, to jokingly badger him into reviving the show. Kemper, Helms and Fischer joined forces to get theWelcome to Marwenstar to sign on to a reboot — to no avail.

As Carell launched into his monologue, a pretend audience member cut in, “My question is: Will you everrebootThe Office?”

“I don’t think so,” Carell replied. “It was a great experience. I love all those people, but I just don’t think it’s the best idea. I think maybe we should just leave it alone.”

“Hi Steve,” Kemper, who played Erin Hannon on the show, chimed in. “People would really love to see anOfficereboot. Especially me. Because I need that money. Let’s get that money, Steve.”

When Carell shut her down, Kemper lamented, “You’re a jerk.”

“I just don’t think you understand how much money we’re talking about,” Helms,The Office‘sAndy Bernard, declared. “Like you wouldn’t have to do all those sad movies anymore.”

“I think a one-off special would be the way to go,” he said. “Some event that brings everyone back together.”
