Casford – who , in his words , was as “ high as a kite ” at the time – broke into the zoo hoping to catch a squirrel monkey and take it home to his girl as a romantic gesture of love . After walking through an unguaranteed gate to the zoological garden , he proceeded to cut through two padlock and make his way into an enclosure where the animals were sleep .

The squirrel monkeys know , ” the evaluator said during his sentencing . “ You say you could n’t find them and I do n’t speak squirrel . What I know is that by daybreak all the monkeys were disquieted , two of them were injure . ”
Squirrels monkeys are pretty neural little creatures at the best of times , so they were fairly sway up by the experience . The monkeys were read to still be frightened by the good morning , while another was left with bruises and scratches . One of the monkeys still continue to show signs of stress months after the incident , according to the judge .
Casford was also somewhat spoiled for habiliment from the incident . Somehow , he managed to break-dance a stage , fracture two teeth , sprain his ankle joint , and get covered in bruises .
Casford ’s girlfriend never received her present tense , although Casford did receive a nice burglary charge , as well as unrelated violence charges , and a sum of two class and seven calendar month in prison house .
