Sandra Ohhas won a 2019Screen Actors Guild Award!
Oh beat out Julia Garner (Ozark),Laura Linney(Ozark),Elisabeth Moss(The Handmaid’s Tale) andRobin Wright(House of Cards).

TheGrey’s Anatomyalumna, 47, recalled in her acceptance speech how her fellow actors encouraged her to stay strong throughout her career.
“I’d like to thank my mentor Kim Gillingham,” Oh said at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. “I am not the actor I am without the work that we share. And I just so want to thank my fellow actors. I have felt your support so tremendously the last years.”
Oh went on to name more stars who have helped her over the decades.
“I want to thank Alfre Woodard,” she continued. “In 1997 -she’s never going to remember this, she whispers in my ear – I’m so proud of you up there. We fight the same fight.’Jamie Foxxin 2006 pulled me aside and said, ‘Keep going.’ And in 2017, Lena Waithe, she just embraced me and said, ‘You already won. It’s in the work’ So thank you to my fellow actors. Thank you so much.”

Oh was the only woman of color to receive an outstanding female performance SAG nomination this year out of five categories and 25 possible slots. This was her fourth win and sixth nomination. Oh’s 2019 nomination wasKilling Eve‘s only SAG nod this year.
She’s riding a wave of critical recognition after winning the best actress categories at theEmmysand theGolden Globes.

At the Emmys, Oh became thefirst woman of Asian descent to be nominatedfor outstanding actress in a drama and the first to take home the award.
As for her history-making Globes win, she became the first Asian performer to win multiple Golden Globes. In 2006, she won one for playing Cristina Yang inGrey’s Anatomy.
The 25th annualSAG Awardsare being presented live on both TBS and TNT from the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles.
