Priyanka Chopraintentionally chose towear a Marchesa design to her bridal showerto support longtime friend and designer Georgina Chapman,who divorceddisgraced movie mogulHarvey Weinsteinafter he was accused (and laterarrested and charged) withsexual misconduct towards over 60 women.
Chopra, 36, called the decision to wear one of Chapman’s gowns “women supporting women.”
She continued, tellingWomen’s Wear Dailyat Bumble India’s launch dinner in N.Y.C. Monday night, “Georgina’s a friend of mine, and she has been. And it’s not her fault. And I don’t think it’s right to take it out on a self-made woman what somebody in her life did.”
