After nearly seven years of marriage,Kim Kardashian WestandKanye Westare not seeing eye-to-eye about their future.
“Kim knows what she wants to do with her life. She wants to keep living in L.A., create the best life for the kids and focus on her work passions,” a source tells PEOPLE in this week’s issue of theKeeping Up with the Kardashiansstar.
“They are just not on the same page when it comes to their future as a family,” the source adds. “And Kim is okay with it.”

Multiple other sources have confirmed that Kardashian, 40, has beenstruggling in her decision of whether or not to end her marriage to West, 43, on the heels of a tumultuous year that included West’s unlikelypresidential run, his public struggles withbipolar disorderandrumors of divorce.
The high-profile couple shares four children: daughtersNorth, 7, andChicago, who turns 3 on Friday, and sonsSaint, 5, andPsalm, who turns 2 in May.

Despite social media posts showing seemingly happy family vacations to Wyoming and Colorado last year, sources say behind the scenes, Kardashian grew increasingly concerned about West’s behavior — including his controversial and public statements aboutabortion,Kris Jennerand his marriage to Kardashian.
“Kim has become more independent and has lost patience with his antics, rants, the presidential campaign and tweets,” says the industry source, who adds that Kardashian — who isstudying to become a lawyer— has plans that she wants to put into action.

“Kim is capable of moving her life forward without him,” the industry source continues. “She is busy studying, running her business, promoting it, and raising their children. That is what she wants to do.”
While only time will tell which steps Kardashian decides to take for her future, one thing is certain: her children will remain the priority.
“She will do everything she can for the kids to have a great relationship with Kanye,” says the first source. “She just doesn’t want to be married to him.”
