For season 2, in a move that rocked the fanbase, creator J.J. Abrams had Russell chop off all her hair following a breakup.

Russell has previously talked about the decision, tellingWthat she was fully on board.

“I said, ‘Yeah, of course,'” she told the outlet of her response to Abrams’ idea. “And so we did it … and then there was like this crazy backlash.”
