Humes shared two photos of the ladies together. The first was a throwback picture of them sitting together as they smiled and looked at a cupcake with a single candle on top.
The second photo appeared to be more recent and showed the pair laughing together over a glass of wine.
“Thank u so much! You are so kind always!” theBatman Beginsactress commented on the post.
Holmes and Humes in the teen drama series that followed a group of friends living in the fictional town of Capeside, Massachusetts. The show ran from January 1998 to May 2003.

The hit series also featuredJames Van Der BeekasDawson’s Creek’s title character Dawson Leery,Michelle Williamsas Jen Lindley,Joshua Jacksonas Pacey Witter and Kerr Smith as Jack McPhee. Humes played Dawson’s mother Gail, while Holmes starred as his friend, Joey Potter.
Throughout the years, the cast has remained close.
In March, Van Der Beek, 46, revealed that Humes continues to play an important part in his life, especially on his birthdays.
“Okay guys, what do we got?” he askedhis childrenin the sweet video. “From Margaret, every year, on my birthday.”
Later that month, Humes was present to support Holmes at her off-Broadway showThe Wanderers.

“There has been a secret text message going around among all we actors,” she said. “Katie Holmes and I have talked about it extensively. James Van Der Beek and I have talked about it.”
“I actually wrote like, 190 pages ofan idea for a crossover to a reboot,” Humes continued. “Whether it goes anywhere, I don’t know. But there’s certainly a lot of buzz about it.”
