So MSI apparently has no plans to actually release thisdual - screen , Windows 7 tablet , but I stopped by the John Wilkes Booth to play around with it anyway . It ’s pretty windy , but hey ! Two screens ! Update : It ’s now in development .

It ’s distinctly not meant for actual outlet — the touchscreen was very temperamental , the machine as a whole was super slow and they had n’t made enough change to Windows 7 to make that dual - cover setup worthwhile . The received Windows 7 soft keyboard is pretty middling , and if this was a real product I ’d probably criticise it more . On a canonic level , you may narrate this is a simple cogent evidence of concept — they just slap two screens together , with no thought as to what benefits that apparatus might give .
The hardware , on the other hand , is amazingly nice — it ’s super thin and light , the two 10 - in concealment definitely keep it netbook - sized , and the brushed metallic element polish is really nice . But it ’s all form of a arguable full point — MSI ’s incur no plans to impart this to market . Still , cool idea , even if it ’s superfluous so far . [ MSI ]
Update : I just spoke to a interpreter from MSI whose English is importantly better than that of the reps at the cubicle , and he says the product is not strictly conceptual . Apparently it ’s in a 15 - 18 month development Hz , which means it ’s nearing dismission , but they want to waitress for the Apple Tablet to ensure they ’re on the correct track to contend . The reason this version move so ill was due to its reliance on a very slow ( designed for MIDs ) Intel Menlow mainframe , and hopefully they ’ll swap that out for ( at the very least ) an Atom , or perchance a Snapdragon or Tegra . Anyway , sorry for the misunderstanding , and we ’ll keep you updated as the merchandise in closer to let go .
