We know thePixel 7/7 Prowould make its official debut , with accompanying point about its spec and camera hardware . And we eff that thePixel Watchwould ultimately arrive into the zeitgeist . We did n’t actualize Google would also use its event to cue us that it ’s still making a standalonePixel Tablet — and that it would look like something out of the Nest lineup .
We knew the tablet was coming , thanks to a brief mention at Google I / O before this year . But today ’s extra teaser solidify that it will be available with a companion cloth - covered dock that houses a verbalizer and helps the Pixel Tablet blend in with your Nest machine . The tablet itself will adhere to the dock using secure attraction .
Seriously , appear at the renders of this thing : it looks exactly like a Nest Hub when it ’s docked . However , front at the interior , it ’s an entirely different twist than anything from the Nest smart household lineup . For one , it go the Android operating system rather than Fuschia OS , which is what Google ’s beenshiftingto for many of its smart devices . It also execute the custom Tensor G2 chip power up the Pixel 7/7 Pro smartphones , meaning the tab will likely have many of the same AI - heighten smart as its smaller twin .

Google lauded the construction of the twist , which uses different physique materials than the PIxel 7/7 Pro . The Pixel Tablet features a “ nano - ceramic ” coat inspired by the look and feel of a porcelain sculpture . The organic structure is make up of reuse aluminum , too , which bodes well for the company ’s title of sustainability ( though it ’s notdoing muchto call on back the clock on mood alteration ) .
We ’ll recognise more about the Pixel Tablet when it launches next twelvemonth . For now , Google will keep fox us bones about this slate machine , like that it can operate your smart home to a degree . But we still need more item before we can tell if this pad will be the second coming of the Nexus 7 or an alternative to the Nest Hub .
