A filmmakerwho met with Marvelabout directing Black Widow says the studio did n’t expect her to manoeuvre the film ’s action at law scenes .
According toThe Daily Pioneer , Argentinian film producer Lucrecia Martel — who ’s known for acclaimed art - house films like Zama , The Holy Girl , and The Headless Woman — was speaking at the Mumbai Film Festival back in October and detailed a meeting she had with Marvel , where they discussed the possibility of her directing the approaching film starring Scarlett Johansson .
“ What they assure me in the meeting was ‘ We need a female managing director because we need someone who is mostly concerned with thedevelopment of Scarlett Johansson ’s character , ’ ” Martel said . “ They also told me ‘ Do n’t worry about the action at law shot , we will take care of that . ’ I was thinking , ‘ Well I would enjoy to meet Scarlett Johansson but also I would love to make the legal action sequences . ’ ”
Martel had some other thoughtson the processand Marvel movies in oecumenical .
“ Companies are concerned in female movie maker but they still call back activity scenes are for virile directors , ” Martel aver . “ The first thing I take them was peradventure if they could change the special effects because there ’s so many laser lights … I notice them horrible . Also the soundtrack of Marvel film is quite horrific . peradventure we disagree on this but it ’s really hard to keep an eye on a Marvel movie . It ’s painful to the ears to see Marvel films . ”
Another interesting note is that Martel admitted she signed something stating she was not allowed to talk about the encounter with Marvel — so her last joke , while comic , in all probability is a moot spot : “ But just in case any of this is going to be on YouTube , I would love to make Black Widow , ” she said .
The occupation of mastermind Black Widoweventually proceed to Cate Shortlandwith a rumored release to besometime in 2020 . We ’ve contacted Disney and will update if the studio apartment has any scuttlebutt or response to Martel ’s claims .
