Yep , an actual continuation — not , as Last House got , a remake . And it ’s not just a cynical hard currency grab , either . Turns out Do n’t Look in the Basement 2 conductor Anthony Brownrigg is the boy of S.F. Brownrigg , who made the original . ( The elderly Brownrigg , who died in 1996 , was a turn of a low - budget horror auteur in the seventies , though Basement remains his best - recognize work . )
