“I never even thought about modeling,” Crawford, 57, admitted in the 25-second clip that begins with a photo of the supermodel from the 1980s when she first began her career.

“I didn’t even know it was a real job. I didn’t know how I would get from DeKalb, Illinois, to a magazine,” Crawford said as she sat in a white director’s chair, dressed casually in a black dress and matching leather jacket.

The clip then cuts to footage of Crawford performing commercial work in the ’80s. “My dad really didn’t understand that modeling was a real career,” she said. “He thought modeling was like another name for prostitution. So they came with me to my very first modeling appointment.”
