Last week , on February 11th , Alexandra Watson ( aka @happinesscoach ) received a very exciting email in her inbox and promptly tweeted the word out to her 66,000 follower : Hurray , I am so tiptop - duper popular on LinkedIn . My biography now has significance .
She ’s not that special . Watson is one of 20 million citizenry who received an email from LinkedIn this month informing them that they should be proud of their elect status amongst the top 1 - percentage , 5 - percent , or 10 - percent of LinkedIn profiles .
Which , whatever , if LinkedIn spams you , that ’s LinkedIn ’s thing . The sad part , TechCrunchreports , is that @happinesscoach and hoards of other people tweeted more than 80,000 time about the news . Yes , that ’s right :

82,607 tweets were sent about LinkedIn popularity.
That means that either that many people tweeted about the LinkedIn spam , or that few mass tweeted MULTIPLE TIMES which would be even sad .
Why , oh , why , Internet ? Being one of 20 million should n’t make anybody palpate very extra . Even if it does , blow about something as stupid as LinkedIn is the prototype of why LinkedIn is insufferable to the great unwashed who are n’t middle managers trying to get poach into slightly high paying midway direction jobs . Sigh . [ TechCrunch ]
